I’m John Clites, the creator and instructor behind Come Teach English In Brazil. With over 12 years of living in Brazil and teaching English as my primary occupation, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the teaching market and the country’s culture. My journey began in 2008, and since then, I’ve traveled to over 40 countries while continuing to teach both in-person and online. Teaching has not only funded my travels but also allowed me to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, shaping the practical advice I now share in my course.

In 2012, I transitioned to teaching online, giving me the flexibility to maintain my income and travel freely. Writing is another part of my life, and I’ve contributed articles to publications like Transitions Abroad, International Living, and others. I’m also the author of Live Well in Rio: The Untourist Guide. This combination of teaching, travel, and writing allows me to provide practical, experience-driven guidance to anyone looking to teach and live in Brazil.
